Your workplace is your mission field

There is a quiet assumption in a lot of church life that real ministry happens on a platform, and everything else is what you do to fund it. It is a comfortable idea for the few people on the platform and a discouraging one for everybody else.

We do not believe it. Marketplace-empowered is one of the five convictions this church is built on, and it means what it says: the place you spend forty hours a week is the place most of your ministry will happen.

What that asks of you

Mostly it asks for competence. A believer who misses deadlines and blames spiritual warfare is not a witness. Excellence at the work itself is the thing that earns the right to be heard — and the New Testament assumes it, again and again, in its instructions to servants, workers and masters.

Excel professionally, witness boldly, and show Christ’s character in all you do.

The Tech Hub

The WordHouse Tech Hub is what the conviction looks like when it is given a building. It is a grant-sponsored co-working space in Eket with subsidised access for freelancers and developers — somewhere to work properly, with reliable conditions, alongside other people doing the same.

It is open beyond our own membership, and deliberately so. Serving a town is part of witnessing to it.
